Did you know in NC the state requires HVAC companies to be licensed?
This license protects you as a homeowner. If an un-licensed heating and air contractor does your work and something happens, your homeowner's insurance may not pay. The state has checks and balances in place, in order to serve and protect you as a homeowner. Make sure you are dealing with a licensed, bonded, and insured reputable company. Installing the wrong sized hvac unit, or improper ductwork can cause many problems in your home, with high utility bills, health issues, potential fire hazards, water damage issues or worse. Whether it's us here at 727 Mechanical or another company, make sure they are reputable and permitting as required by the state and county.

Our Story
Our story begins with family. Christopher, our founder, was raised with a wrench in one hand and a legacy of mechanics in the other. On his maternal side, his grandfather served in the military, specializing in aircraft mechanics. After his service, he used the savings he sent home to open an auto repair shop—where Christopher spent much of his childhood learning the fundamentals of mechanical systems firsthand.
The mechanical influence didn’t stop there. On his paternal side, his grandfather also served as a military mechanic, working on ground vehicles. After his service, he spent the majority of his career with Southern Comfort. Christopher’s father followed in those footsteps, building a 40+ year career in commercial HVAC and now serving as part of the 727 Mechanical team.
After high school, Christopher pursued a career in the racing industry, where he specialized in building high-performance engines. Racing motocross on the weekends, he often joked he had to work “7 to 7” throughout the week to support his passion—hence the birth of the name “727,” inspired by his December 27 birthday and that relentless work ethic.
Christopher decided to move on to new adventures and opened a small engine repair shop. He would lend a hand to his uncle, a licensed mechanical contractor, with HVAC projects. That hands-on experience inspired him to pursue the path of becoming a licensed mechanical contractor. In 2023, 727 Mechanical was officially launched.
